MIAMI (March 27, 2018) – Two-time Latin GRAMMY® winner ChocQuibTown, one of Colombia’s most influential groups, releases “Invencible,” the second single from its forthcoming album Sin Miedo (Fearless), which will be released later this year. Available via Sony Music Latin, it will be the group’s eighth album in a career that has spanned over 15 years.

Invencible” follows in the footsteps of the first single “Dinero No Hay” (Money Is Tight), feat. Wisin. On this new song, band members Goyo “The Girl,” Slow Mike and Tostao sing about love in all its manifestations. Written by the band members and produced by Slow Mike, it invites us to believe, to trust, and to keep moving forward without fear.

THE VIDEO

Filmed by the prestigious Venezuelan director Nuno Gomes, this video continues his knack for weaving together several plotlines, just as he has done on his previous projects such as “Andas en Mi Cabeza” by Chino y Nacho feat. Daddy Yankee, and “Se Acabó” by San Luis feat. Chino y Nacho. For the “Invencible” video, we are treated to three stories. We observe two children meeting and becoming attracted at a dance contest. We see two older adults who decide to take a chance on love, and we see a woman attending a party who shows her love for another woman. These three stories are combined with a ChocQuibTown performance recorded at Bogotá’s Parque Jaime Duque with a replica of the Taj Mahal in the background.

THE CONTEST: MARRIAGE PROPOSAL

Several weeks ago, ChocQuibTown used social media to announce a love-story promotion in which the contestant with the best story will be invited to make a marriage proposal, complete with a ring and a musical assist from the group. Hundreds of remarkable stories poured in from all over the world. A winner has been selected and will be announced soon, along with the couple’s story.

OTHER NEWS

The group recently made a long-time dream come true with the release of its clothing line called CHOCQUIBTOWN X SEVEN SEVEN. The collection emphasizes color and combines elements inspired by the indigenous and Afro-Latin heritage of Chocó, Colombia, such as the filigree, molas, the golden frog, coral, tigers, exotic animals and tropical plants.

Tostao presented De Donde Vengo Yo (Where I Come From), a five-part documentary miniseries on Telepacífico, which explores Chocó’s culture and traditions. It won two India Catalina awards this year at the Cartagena Film Festival.

ChocQuibFilms: This project teaches the cinematic arts to Chocó youth for the purpose of raising visibility of the area’s ethnic and territorial identity. Preserving oral tradition and giving voice to the dreams and experiences of the people of Chocó are key objectives. The long-term goal is to lay the groundwork for Chocó to develop its own recognizable cinematic style.
