The legendary diva contributes two new songs to New Music Friday — Spanish-language banger “El Anillo” and the amazingly-titled “Put Your Lovin’ Where Your Mouth Is” (co-produced by The Audibles). The latter appears on Poo Bear’s debut album, Poo Bear Presents: Bearthday Music. It showcases the super-producer’s ability to hop and blend genres, shines a light on budding talent and is a means of sharing new music from superstars between album cycles.
It’s hard to pick highlights when the standard is this high, but Jennifer Lopez’s contribution has to be in the running. “Put Your Lovin Where Your Mouth Is” was originally intended for the enduring diva’s next album, but I’m glad it arrived prematurely. This is one of J.Lo’s smoothest bops in a while. The production is sexy, slinky and strangely reminiscent of her early ’00s material — despite sounding very much of the here and now. Listen to infectious mid-tempo below.
