
Miami, FL May 15, 2018 - Peermusic congratulates their songwriters. Latin pop music icon Mexican singer-songwriter Gloria Trevi and accomplished Ecuadorian songwriter Carlos A. Rubira Infante will be inducted into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame during the upcoming ceremony to take place in Miami, at the James L. Knight Center on October 18, 2018.
Trevi's career began her career in 1985; where she briefly joined a girl band called Boquitas Pintadas (Little Mouths with Lipstick). Heavily influenced by British and American rock, as well as by Latin music, Trevi decided to become a solo artist. Her debut album Que Hago Aqui? (What Am I Doing Here?) (1989), which was an instant chart success. Between 1991 and 1996, Trevi released five albums and starred in three Mexican box-offices hit films. In 1992 she toured the Caribbean and South America, playing to audiences in the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Chile and Puerto Rico.
In 2007 Gloria signed a worldwide multi-album publishing deal with peermusic beginning with the album “Una Rosa Blu” which she produced in collaboration with three major names in the music industry: Sergio George, Armando Ávila, and Bob Benozzo. “Una Rosa Blu” was recorded in Miami, Orlando, Mexico City, and Milan. The album included hits such as “Cinco Minutos,” “Pruébamelo” and “El Favor de la Soledad” which for the first time in 15 years places her album among the Top 5 on Billboard, conquering not only Mexican radio, but also US Latin radio.
In March of 2011 Trevi releases the album “GLORIA” which included the songs “Me Río De Ti,” "Vestida De Azucar,” “La Noche”, “Despiertame” and “Cambio Y Fuera,” which place her again at the top of the charts for several weeks. In 2012 Trevi is nominated at Premios Lo Nuestro for Female Artist of the Year, Best Album of the Year and Song of the Year with “Me Rio de Ti”. With her album “GLORIA” she toured some of the most important venues in Mexico, North and South America.
In 2013 she performed at the Viña del Mar Festival in Chile where she is the recipient of La Antorcha de Plata, La Antorcha de Oro, La Gaviota de Plata and La Gaviota de Oro, as well as a Gold record for sales of “GLORIA” in Chile. In 2013 Trevi returns to television for the first time in a lead role on the soap opera "Libre Para Amarte" televised on the Televisa network. That same year she releases her album “De Pelicula” which includes hits “No Queria Lastimarme,” and “Habla Blah Blah.” In February 2014 she embarked on her “De Pelicula World Tour” which took her to Mexico, Latin America, and the United States.
In 2015 Trevi then launches the concept album “El Amor” which debuted at #1 on Billboard in the United States; in Mexico and nine other countries in Latin America.“El Amor” is a masterful set of some of the most important classics of Latin music. It features 14 tracks: 12 classic and two unreleased tracks, where Gloria tells how she likes to love and be loved from the perspective of men and women. New versions of these classics were produced by Multi-Award-Winning producer, Humberto Gatica.
Carlos A. Rubira Infante was born on September 16, 1921, is an Ecuadorian singer-songwriter of pasillo and pasacalle music. He began to perform his songs on El Telégrafo radio station for a program called "La hora agrícola." Then he formed the group "Vera Santos-Rubira." Rubira was awarded the National Art Award "Premio Eugenio Espejo" in 2008 by the President of Ecuador He has written more than 400 songs. Peermusic represents his award-winning editorial catalog in the United States.
