Nashville, TN (January 22, 2020) - peermusic has re-signed hit Nashville songwriter Jaron Boyer to an exclusive songwriter agreement as announced today by Kathy Spanberger, President & COO, peermusic and Michael Knox, SVP, peermusic Nashville.
peermusic’s exclusive deal with Boyer includes all future works, and the company will now be collaborating with Hipnosis Song Fund and Merck Mercuriadis who purchased Jaron’s back catalog. Boyer was represented in the deal by Jason L. Turner, Esquire, Keller Turner Andrews & Ghanem.
“I am extremely excited to re-sign with peermusic. In the past few years under Michael Knox’s leadership, along with the support of the peermusic staff, I have grown exponentially as a songwriter,” said Jaron Boyer. “We have accomplished so much together and I look forward to what the future holds for all of us.”
“I knew early on that Jaron was capable of great things, and it’s been awesome to see him accomplish so much not only as his publisher, but also as a collaborator in the studio and as a friend. The songs he’s written for Jason’s new album are some of his finest work yet, and I’m proud that peermusic will publish them,” said Michael Knox, SVP, peermusic Nashville.
Jaron Boyer, one of Nashville’s most accomplished and in-demand songwriters, has five cuts on the new Jason Aldean album 9 (BBR Music Group/BMG) which debuted at #1 on the Country charts. Boyer’s credits include “Dirt We Were Raised On,” “Keeping It Small Town,” “Came Here to Drink,” “Cowboy Killer,” and “She Likes It.” peermusic writer Michael Tyler was also a co-writer on the last three of these songs with Boyer, while peermusic Nashville SVP Michael Knox, a long-time collaborator of Aldean, produced the album, which landed Aldean his seventh #1 album and sixth #1 album debut.
Artists who Boyer has written songs for include Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Cole Swindell, Chris Stapleton, Sam Hunt and Rascal Flatts, among many others. He’s penned four #1 hits, including “Hell Of A Night” by Dustin Lynch, “Somewhere On A Beach” by Dierks Bentley, “Flatliner” by Cole Swindell feat. Dierks Bentley, and “Girl Like You” by Jason Aldean. He also won the 2016 SESAC Country Song Of The Year award for “Somewhere On A Beach.”
peermusic SVP Michael Knox, who produced Jason Aldean’s latest album, is a creative force in country music who has produced 24 number one hits, over 45 million singles and more than 20 million albums sold during his career. In addition to his long-running role as Aldean’s primary producer, his production credits include Thomas Rhett, Kelly Clarkson, Ludacris, Trace Adkins, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Michael Tyler, the hit TV series "Nashville" as well as his father Buddy Knox (“Party Doll” fame 1957), among others.
