Peermusic Australia has signed Triple One to a worldwide publishing deal, as announced today by Kathy Spanberger, President & Chief Operating Officer, peermusic Anglo American Region and Ralph W. Peer, Managing Director, peermusic Australia. The deal marks the first time Triple One has signed to a music publisher, and it encompasses the band’s entire back catalog and future works.
Hailing from the Inner-West of Sydney, Triple One’s sound is a unique blend of hip-hop, punk and alternative genres. While their early singles “Doozy” and “Overflow” scored millions of views and streams internationally, Triple One broke into Australia’s music scene with the 2019 single “Butter.” The hit track went Gold and received significant radio airplay, ultimately leading to the group’s debut UK/European tour and sold out shows across Australia.
“Triple One has everything we look for in our signings—a unique sound, creative vision and a strong work ethic. We are honored that they have entrusted us with their publishing,” said Ralph W. Peer. “We’re driven to maintain high standards for the peermusic roster as we continue to sign contemporary repertoire in the Australian region. The signing of Triple One is a reflection of that.”
“We're really excited to be partnering with the world-class peermusic team. We're continuing to go against the grain and elevate what we do. The support of Kathy, Ralph, and the entire peermusic team has got us even more fired up for what's to come,” said Obi Ill Terrors (Conor Grealish), Triple One.
Triple One is comprised of rappers Marty Bugatti and Obi III Terrors, with melodic hooks by singer Lil Dijon and production crafted by Billy Gunns. In 2020, the band released their debut album Panic Force which debuted at number 7 on the ARIA Charts, crowned the triple j “Feature Album of the Week,” and was featured in tastemaker US channel Lyrical Lemonade. Triple One has also earned a reputation for high-energy, live performances through relentless gigging across Australia. In 2021, the group sold out their national Panic Force tour in between two lockdowns. In 2022, Triple One cemented their place as one of the most buzz-worthy acts in the country, from their set at Splendour in the Grass music and arts festival, selling out their first regional “Come Over” tour and seeing their second single “So Easy” reach Gold.
In October of last year, peermusic appointed Ralph W. Peer as Managing Director of peermusic Australia, expanding his responsibilities within the company to oversee all creative and administrative operations in Australia, Fiji, New Guinea & New Zealand. The company is also setting the standard for international publishing administration and represents many clients for sub-publishing in the region, including Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd; Sugar Music; Big Machine Music LLC (which recently yielded the global hit with GAYLE’s “abcdefu”); Soundgarden; Modern Works; and St. Nicolas Music with income collected across its sub-publishing clients growing 12% year-over-year. In addition to creative and administrative operations, peermusic Australia is working to expand peermusic’s Film/TV business in the region with a focus on offering music supervision/scoring packages to local production companies in Australia and New Zealand. Ralph W. Peer also continues directing peermusic initiatives as their Vice President of peermusic’s African and Middle East operations.
