peermusic Signs Breakthrough Reggaetón Artist/Songwriter Alejo to Exclusive Worldwide Publishing Deal

One of the most acclaimed breakthrough artists in the Latin urban genre, Puerto Rican recording artist and songwriter Rubén Alejandro Estrada Feliu, professionally known in the music world as Alejo, has signed an exclusive, worldwide publishing deal with peermusic as announced today by Kathy Spanberger, President & Chief Operating Officer, peermusic Anglo American Region and Julio Bagué, Vice President, Latin Division, for the East Coast and Puerto Rico, peermusic. The exclusive songwriter agreement encompasses Alejo’s global hits “Pantysito” with Feid and Robi; “Un Viaje” alongside Karol G, Jotaerre and Moffa; “Volar” by Wisin, Alejo, and Chris Andrew featuring Los Legendarios; and “Estrella” the collaboration between Alejo and boy band CNCO, along with Alejo’s new album, El Favorito de las Nenas, and his entire song catalog.

In May of this year, Alejo released his new album, El Favorito De Las Nenas, which is streaming 320,000 streams per day and projected to be at 10 million streams by the end of the first month of release. The album includes 12 tracks penned by Alejo in collaboration with Izon, Daddysillo, José A. Huertas “Hvertas”, and Joseph Baes Figueroa “Baez.” The new record was produced by renowned producers Camebeats, Hvuertas, Yung Cado, Baez, Mauro, Dunamo, Jaime Cosculluela and mixed by Kid Kev. All of the songs on the album have visualizers that can be enjoyed on Alejo's YouTube channel. The new album is released on JUNGL and distributed by ONErpm. The album release is in tandem with the premiere of the focus track, “305.” Alejo is also nominated for Best New Artist for the Premio Tu Música which will be given out next month in Puerto Rico.

Thanks to the success of the global hit “Pantysito” with Feid and Robi, 2022 was a breakthrough year for 19-year-old international recording artist and songwriter, Alejo. “Pantysito” was already a viral hit on TikTok when it surpassed one million streams on platforms on the first day of its official release and has over 234 million streams to date. It debuted at #7 on a global chart and was positioned in the Top 50 of Spotify® in more than 20 countries. The song hit Top 25 of Apple Music in over 20 countries. On YouTube the video has surpassed 65 million views; it ranked #1 in trends in Puerto Rico and Colombia, #5 globally, and ranked in the Top 10 trends in 12 countries. “Pantysito” has been certified GOLD in Spain.  

After the worldwide success of “Pantysito,” Alejo released the single “Un Viaje” alongside Karol G, Jotaerre and Moffa—once again repeating the feat of having a viral success before the official release of the single with over 35 million streams to date on Spotify. 

With considered global success already achieved, Alejo has been strengthening his musical career with a unique sound and style. Alejo has collaborated with numerous important artists such as, including Karol G, Feid, Wisin, Jay Wheeler, CNCO, Lola Indigo and Nio García, among other greats.

Alejo continued to reach new milestones as he received his first nomination for Premios Juventud 2022 in the category “The New Generation – Male” and appeared for the first time at the awards show to perform “Pantysito” alongside Feid and Robi. Billboard named Alejo to its “On the Radar Latin” artists to discover in July 2022. Tidal® included him as part of their “Best of ’22 So Far” roundup. In December 2022, with a whopping 90 percent of the votes, Alejo and boy band CNCO won Billboard’s fan-voted Best Latin collaboration of December 2022 thanks to their single “Estrella.”

In 2021, Alejo released “Lo Enrola” featuring Juanfran, “Amor de 3,” “Se Dejó,” “Efectos  Secundarios,” “MIBB” and “El Malo” which have become fan favorites. At the end of the 2021, he released his debut EP 32 de diciembre.  

Alejo is signed with independent label JUNGL of renowned producer and music industry veteran, Jaime Cosculluela, who also manages Alejo.
