Alternative rockers Hembree have returned in 2025 with a sound more akin to the songs that first put the band on the map like ‘Holy Water’, ‘Culture’ and ‘Can’t Run Forever’. Lead singer Isaac Flynn felt compelled to bring the band back to this sound after an extensive run on the road last fall with friends Kaleo, Ripe and Phantom Planet. Flynn states, “The band fell in love with the energy of a rock show again.”

Hembree is a band known for its fun and energetic shows, and if you know them, you know they’re also very charismatic and easy-going, but Flynn says, “The music has always been a way for us to show a different side of our personalities and wrestle with the chaos in the world.” Like most Hembree songs, there’s always still a little glimmer of hope, like the lyrics “devil pulling a string, get out of my mind, get back on my feet.” Persistence and hope still weave their way into the societal commentary in the song. “It’s a song about trying to keep moving forward despite living in a world filled with endless obstacles, division and sadness.” The song is the first of several singles set to release in 2025.
