MOONGA K. Announces Third Studio Album 'SOULWAVE 2153,' Releases First Single "BIG EGO" on Friday

Genre-bending Zambian-born artist MOONGA K. has announced his third studio album SOULWAVE 2153 out August 7, 2026 via Japanese independent label P-Vine Records. The first single, "BIG EGO," produced by MOONGA K. and Ryan Marshall, releases this Friday, June 26.

SOULWAVE 2153 blends funk, psychedelia, soul, pop, reggae, Zamrock, electronica, disco, classical, and African musical influences into an afrofuturist concept album. Co-produced by MOONGA K. Ryan Marshall, and Matthew Garton, the project draws inspiration from artists including Stevie Wonder, Janelle Monáe, Sun Ra, and Funkadelic. With over 10 million global streams and prior coverage from Rolling Stone, AFROPUNK, Wonderland, GQ, and Nataal, MOONGA K. has established a presence in alternative African music. The artist is planning an international tour to support the album release.
