
De La Ghetto is a prolific Latin Urban-Reggaeton chart-topping singer-songwriter and Grammy nominated recording artist. Born Rafael Castillo, the Puerto Rican artist counts with a remarkable trajectory of over 15 years. He kicked off his career in 2004 as part of the reggaeton duo Arcangel & De La Ghetto before embarking as a soloist in 2006. Throughout his career, De La Geezy, as he’s also called, has collaborated with artists such as J Balvin, Ozuna, Daddy Yankee, Bad Bunny, Wisin, Nicky Jam, Zion & Lennox, Yandel, Jason Derulo, Sofia Reyes, Anuel AA, and Maluma, to name a few.
His most recent releases include his single “Selfie,” a danceable and sexy Reggaeton-Dancehall beat featuring his trademark flow and lyrical style, and “Feka” ft. Milky Woodz and El Alfa, a scintillating Trap track showing De La Geezy at his best. Both singles will be featured on his highly anticipated next album “Los Chulitos,” set to drop on May 22, 2020.
In early 2019, De La Ghetto performed “Rompe” on a historic Daddy Yankee tribute aired on Univision. This was the most streamed performance on YouTube post show, and it became a trending topic in the U.S. and Latin America. “Rompe” was the most commented segment of the tribute.
In 2019, he was a Latin Grammy nominee for “Best Urban Album” and “Best Urban Song,” De La Ghetto’s third album, “Mi Movimiento,” debuted and peaked at No. 5 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums and Latin Rhythm Albums charts dated Oct. 13, 2018. His hit singles included “Caliente” ft. J Balvin, “Todo El Amor” ft. Maluma and Wisin, and “Recuerdo,” a new take on Puerto Rican rapper Vico-C’s 90’1 hit track. The album’s first single “La Formula” ft. Daddy Yankee & Ozuna reached 160 million views in 4 months, surpassing 241 million visits on YouTube. He was also featured on the cover of Bleu Magazine in December of 2019 and Galore Magazine in January of 2020.
As a Reggaeton-Trap pioneer and leader of a movement, in 2018 alone, he guested on no less than 24 singles and albums and dropped more than a dozen singles under his own name. He was featured on the global hit-single “1,2,3” with Sofia Reyes & Jason Derulo, which cracked Spotify’s Top 50 globally and was certified Platinum & Gold in the U.S., Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Spain & Chile.
