Jorge Luis Chacín

Jorge Luis Chacin is an artist, singer, songwriter, musician and music producer. Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, his musical studies start as very folkloric, playing the Zulian gaita, after which he studied bass, accompanying piano and classic guitar at the José Luis Paz Conservatory in Maracaibo, and harmony and composition with Austrian Maestro Jerry Weill.

His first Latin Grammy nomination was in 2004 for Best Tropical Album as part of a music duo called Bachá. Since then, Jorge Luis Chacin has been nominated multiple times. In 2014, he released a solo album called El Color De Mi Locura and once again received a nomination for Best Tropical Album. He was the lead singer and songwriter for one of the most popular bands in Venezuela called Guaco, and wrote and produced more than 40 songs for Guaco as they toured around the world. Guaco won two Latin Grammys for Best Tropical Album. Jorge Luis has been a winner of several BMI awards and is now the CEO of his own music production company called DNR Music Inc. He has written songs for well-known Latin acts such as Marc Antony, CNCO, Prince Royce, Thalia, Ricardo Arjona, David Bisbal, and Ricardo Montaner, among others.

He wrote hit singles for the Latin boy band phenomenon CNCO, called Fiesta En Mi Casa and De Cero. He is also the writer of Sprint’s official song for the 2018 FIFA World Cup called 90 Minutos performed by Prince Royce and Chocquibtown, and recent hit singles for Thalia and Gente de Zona ("Lento"), Diego Torres and Carlos Vives ("Un Poquito"), and Prince Royce and Marc Antony ("Adicto").
