
Cristina Abaroa, a Latin GRAMMY® nominee, singer-songwriter, and music producer born in Mexico City into a family of artists and prominent executives in the music industry.
Abaroa attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she studied arranging and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She moved to Los Angeles in 1991 and founded her music production company Moon Moosic.
As a singer-songwriter, she has released 3 albums independently: Cristina (2000), Pintor de Ilusiones (2004), and her most recent one, Studio Sessions (2022).
In Cristina's songs, you can hear different music genres and the influence of Mexican, Latin American, and Spanish rhythms. Her lyrics reflect a unique style of love storytelling.
Among her awards, Cristina has received the 2018 Berklee Achievement Award, the 2021 SACM 25-Year Career Award; and a Latin Grammy® nomination for her children's project "Danilo & Chapis;" created, composed, produced, and performed by her (Chapis) and her brother Alejandro (Danilo).
Her songs’ catalog include the soundtrack of TV shows that were a reference for a whole generation of Hispanic children, including: “Alegrijes y Rebujos”, “Cómplices al Rescate”, “Amigos x Siempre”, “Misión SOS”, “El Diario de Daniela”, “Aventuras en el Tiempo” , “Rayito de Luz”, “El Club de Gaby”, 3 seasons of “Código FAMA” and 5 seasons of Plaza Sésamo Mexican version of Sesame Street.
