Google Music Launches to “St. Croix” by peermusic Indie Band Family of the Year

Los Angeles, CA – Media giant Google has launched their latest internet-based product, Google Music, with a song by peermusic’s Family of the Year, “St. Croix.” The announcement was made in a massively-released video announcement by the world’s most-frequented search engine, having achieved an internet first with over one billion visitors in May 2011 alone..Family of the Year was selected to provide the musical backdrop to the launch, as the group captures the essence of what Google Music aims to accomplish: connecting independent artists and top label acts to listeners by combining the search engine’s existing abilities with social networking to reach a broader audience.“St. Croix,” which will be featured on Family of the Year’s album, Diversity, has generated a significant amount of attention for the band. The “St. Croix” video, directed by Oscar-nominated and Sundance-winning film director Jessica Sanders, was spotlighted on NME.com’s video main page. The “St. Croix” EP was featured on the iTunes Music homepage in the “What’s Hot” section and the single is also confirmed for feature in iTunes Wemix for a $0.69 track sale from 11/8 to 12/6.
