peermusic has signed Jonathan Yip and Jeremy Reeves of The Stereotypes, the hit-makers behind Cardi B and Bruno Mars’ “Please Me”, Justin Bieber’s “Somebody to Love ft. Usher”, Chris Brown’s “Beg for It”, Lil Yachty’s “Better”, and Silk Sonic’s “After Last Nite” (with Thundercat and Bootsy Collins) to a worldwide, go-forward, publishing administration deal. The deal was announced today by Kathy Spanberger, President & COO, peermusic and Tuff Morgan, Vice President, A&R peermusic.

Behind countless hits for some of music’s biggest superstars, fans will find The Stereotypes. The highly coveted, GRAMMY® Award-winning, multi-platinum Los Angeles production and songwriting team—Jonathan Yip, Ray Romulus, and Jeremy Reeves,—have cast a palpable influence over pop, hip-hop, and R&B, architecting the backbone of one successive smash after another.

The Stereotypes scored two 2018 GRAMMY® wins for Song of the Year and Best R&B Song for their work on Bruno Mars' six-times platinum, #1 Billboard Hot 100 song "That's What I Like." The Stereotypes took over the charts in 2017 with a string of anthems from Bruno Mars' acclaimed 24K Magic album, which swept the GRAMMYs® and took home Album of the Year and Best R&B Album. The Stereotypes' contributions to 24K Magic include production credits on "24K Magic" (which won Record of the Year) as well as co-producing and co-writing "That's What I Like" and "Finesse," which Bruno and Cardi B revamped with a remix. The Stereotypes were also nominated for a GRAMMY® in the category of Producer of the Year (Non-Classical).

“Jonathan, Jeremy and The Stereotypes consistently prove that their hit-making capacity may be limitless. They continue to go from strength to strength. When we get the opportunity to work with such caliber of talent and to be the guardians of a song catalog like this, it’s very much a vision to reality moment. Their creative relationship with Tuff Morgan helped to make this happen and our team couldn’t be happier to welcome Jonathan and Jeremy to the peermusic family,” said Kathy Spanberger.

“The Stereotypes have harnessed this incredibly collaborative approach and undeniable talent into over sixteen years of hit-making magic,” said Tuff Morgan. “They just keep finding new opportunities and exciting creative moments in the studio. We’re looking forward to big things ahead.”

“Excited to partner with Peermusic. Meeting Tuff and the rest of the team, I immediately realized they were aligned with our vision. Not only as producers, but as a company,” said Jonathan Yip.

“Thankful for the opportunity to build with Peermusic. Tuff and the team already feel like family, and I’m excited to see what lies ahead as we push the music forward,” said Jeremy Reeves.

The Stereotypes formally came to life in 2007 and landed their first hit with Danity Kane’s platinum-certified “Damaged” shortly thereafter. Along the way, they extended their brand as businessmen, signing Far East Movement to their production company The Stereotypes Music (among other artists and producers.) The then group decided to expand their artistry into K-Pop, working on songs like Super Junior’s “Devil,” BoA’s “Kiss My Lips,” and Taemin’s “Press Your Number.” The work was a major turning point for the three-piece and began a steady upswing for them. The Stereotypes also stepped into the spotlight as artists in 2017 on the collaborative single with Pitbull, “Jungle” feat. E-40 & Abraham Mateo.
