
Peermusic, the global independent music publishing company with 39 offices in 33 countries, has signed recording artist/songwriter Karen Moon to a worldwide publishing deal as announced today by Elizabeth Rodda, President, US Latin, Latin America and Global Society Relations, peermusic, and Yvonne Drazan, Vice President, Latin Division, West Coast, Peermusic. Through the deal, the company also forms a publishing joint venture with Karen Moon to sign and develop writers, producers and singer-songwriters.
Karen Moon is a Mexican singer, songwriter, and vocal coach making waves in Latin music. In just two years, her genre-spanning compositions have charted on Billboard, earned two Latin GRAMMY awards, and brought her recognition at the 68th Annual GRAMMY Awards. As a versatile topliner, she crafts melodies and lyrics across Música Mexicana, Latin Pop, Urban, EDM, and beyond, writing for renowned artists such as Carin León, Chiquis, La Fiera de Ojinaga, Banda Los Sebastianes, Los Inquietos del Vallenato, and more.
Karen Moon has also contributed to Latin GRAMMY award-winning projects, including Carin León’s Boca Chueca, Vol. 1 which won the Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album (also nominated in the Album of the Year category) at the 25th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, as well as Chiquis’ Diamantes which won in the Best Banda Album category. Both albums were also nominated in the Best Música Mexicana Album (including Tejano) at the 68th Annual GRAMMY Awards with Carin León’s Boca Chueca, Vol. 1 earning the category win.
